Bio
Toby Howell is an experienced Director of Photography based in Bristol but used to shooting films & commercials all over the world.
Initially training at Aardman, he went on to shoot lots of series & feature work for them.
Moving into commercials he specialised in mixed media, shooting large scale animation on location. Also live action & high speed jobs often requiring complex motion control moves & organising large Camera teams.
These include two commercials for John Lewis - 'Things Matter' and 'The Bear & Hare' (winner of 3 British Arrows & 5 Creative Circle awards), as well as work for Google, Apple, VW, BBC, Nike & McDonalds. Also - Fantastic Mr Fox, Love Death & Robots, and Peter & the Wolf.
Toby occasionally directs for Dyson as well as DPing lots of product work.
